Leap Year only comes around every once and awhile so what better time to celebrate your restaurant’s grand opening. That’s exactly what Estate Ultra Bar (1177 N. Elston) has in the works: a grand opening extravaganza that’ll be one for the books on this year’s Leap Day, Wednesday, February 29.
The new restaurant, built up around a small plate and mixology-driven concept and spearheaded by Executive Chef Chris Turano and Head Mixologist Dan De Los Monteros, has brilliant views of the Chicago River and the city’s skyline. With several different dining areas, you’ll be sure to find the intimacy or space you require, and in the spring, Estate will open up three outdoor areas: a Sky Lounge & Deck, riverfront dining on the Terrace, and a semi-enclosed Gazebo.
The menu will feature playful American cuisine paired up with imaginatively inventive cocktails. Expect to see items like: Lobster Mac (cold-water lobster, cheddar, and fontinella cheese with a Goldfish cracker crust), Pork Belly Petite Sammies (Goose Island Root Beer and soy-braised pork belly and kimchi cucumber on Hawaiian rolls), Peppadew Peppers (goat cheese-stuffed sweet and spicy Peppadew peppers with herbed breadcrumbs), and for dessert a Champagne Supernova, Cake Pop Flight (cheesecake with Pop Rocks, red velvet and cream cheese, and dark chocolate frostings served with a bottle of Champagne AND presented with a fireworks sparkler).
For reservations, please call 312-582-4777. Estate is open: Sunday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 a.m.
