The 13th Annual Chicago Polar Plunge will take place this year on Sunday, March 3rd, at North Avenue Beach. This unique fundraising event benefits the programs enjoyed throughout the year by Special Olympics’ 5,000 athletes.
Through sports, Special Olympics Chicago is building communities of acceptance and inclusion for all people.
Your participation at this unique and memorable event will have a direct impact on enhancing the experiences of these superstar athletes! Grab your friends and break out your favorite team jerseys or costumes. You’ll get an official Polar Plunge shirt and, better yet, a warm souvenir towel when you get out of the water!
Special Olympics Chicago will provide a free round trip bus for groups of 20 or more, so start recruiting and make the Polar Plunge an annual tradition! Prizes are awarded for:
• Top three overall fundraisers
• Team raising the most funds
• Best group costume
• Top three individual costumes
Each participant is asked to raise a minimum of $150. It’s quick and easy to set up your personal fundraising page. You will receive a link that you can send to friends and family so that they can make a secure online tax deductible donation.
